A new policy named the ‘Beckham Clause’ has been introduced by a vacation company to assist families facing internal conflicts. This initiative by On the Beach comes in the wake of public turmoil within the Beckham family, triggered by Brooklyn Beckham’s social media outburst. The clause ensures that if a family member withdraws from a holiday due to a dispute, their portion of the hotel expenses will be refunded, relieving the financial burden on the remaining travelers.
Referred to as the ‘Family Fallout Refund,’ the policy is designed to reassure vacationers that interpersonal issues won’t ruin their planned getaway. Zoe Harris, the chief customer officer at On the Beach, emphasized the importance of accommodating family dynamics and ensuring that disagreements don’t disrupt travel plans.
Not exclusive to celebrities, family conflicts leading to trip cancellations are common among regular holidaymakers. The ‘Beckham Clause’ applies to group holidays with five or more individuals, with refund claims required to be made at least 60 days before the trip.
In addition to the ‘Beckham Clause,’ On the Beach is offering various free perks for bookings made in 2026. These perks include free lounge access, gadget insurance, weather protection, a £50 Amazon voucher, and Price Drop Protection. Furthermore, all bookings will receive 1GB of complimentary mobile data.
In case a family member needs to withdraw from a vacation due to a fallout, they can contact On the Beach via chat to initiate the refund process. This policy applies to new and existing bookings departing on or before August 31, 2026, with cancellation requests required 60 days prior to departure.
