A homicide investigation has been launched following the tragic deaths of a young couple deeply in love, discovered lifeless in their residence.
Spencer Tepe and Monique Tepe were fatally shot in their home on December 30, 2025, prompting law enforcement in Columbus, Ohio, to commence a murder inquiry. The couple’s demise, believed to be from gunshot wounds, has left their two children and relatives grieving in the aftermath of the holiday season.
Family members, including Spencer’s brother-in-law Rob Misleh, expressed profound sorrow over the loss, describing the victims as exceptional individuals known for their love, happiness, and strong relationships with others. They are determined to seek justice for this devastating event.
At present, no suspects have been apprehended in connection with the incident. Reports indicate that Spencer sustained multiple gunshot wounds, while Monique was shot once in the chest.
Police became concerned when Spencer, a dentist, failed to show up for work, prompting a visit to their residence where the distressing discovery was made. Upon arrival, authorities heard the couple’s children crying from inside the house.
Recordings from a police officer’s device captured the sound of children inside the home, indicating the presence of distress but difficulty in gaining access.
A fundraising campaign has been initiated to support the couple’s children, while investigators continue their efforts to identify any persons of interest or suspects. The public is urged to contact the Columbus Police Homicide Unit or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers with any relevant information.
In a separate incident, three teenagers have been sentenced for the fatal attack on a homeless man, resulting in his death weeks later. One of the teens was found guilty of murder, while the others were convicted of manslaughter, despite missed opportunities to prevent the tragic outcome.
