“Wizz Air Launches Daily Flights from London to Valencia”

Wizz Air has revealed a fresh route to a city recognized as the world’s top place to reside. The Hungarian low-cost carrier is set to operate a new flight service featuring daily non-stop flights from London Gatwick to Valencia, Spain. Commencing on March 29, 2026, travelers can secure return fares starting from £40.

Valencia is positioned as one of the primary European urban locations where a complete solar eclipse will be visible on August 12, 2026. This exceptional astronomical occurrence, not to be repeated in the Iberian Peninsula until 2090, will cast the city into total darkness for slightly over a minute around 8:32 pm. Open spaces facing west are anticipated to offer optimal viewing spots, making it a not-to-be-missed event for enthusiasts of astronomy.

Recently named the best place to live in 2022, the picturesque Spanish city becomes an ideal destination with the commencement of Wizz Air’s new route this March. During this period, Valencia enjoys pleasant temperatures around 20°C and offers affordable vino at just £4. The charm of numerous Spanish cities, including Valencia, lies in their pedestrian-friendly layouts, allowing visitors to easily explore food markets, admire ancient architecture, and unwind on the beach with a delightful sangria.

With an average meal cost of €13.25 (£11.09), a bottle of wine priced at around €5 (£4.18), and a morning coffee at just €2.04 (£1.71), as per data from transfer platform Wise, it is no surprise that Valencia secured the top spot for livability according to Forbes. A recommended attraction is the historic old town, where visitors can view an important relic of Christian history at the Valencia Cathedral, rumored to house the Holy Grail believed to have been used by Jesus during the Last Supper.

The magnificent Cathedral showcases a fusion of Gothic, Romanesque, and Baroque architectural styles. For the adventurous, ascending the Miguelete Tower promises a breathtaking panoramic vista of the city. Nearby, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Silk Exchange (La Lonja de la Seda) awaits exploration, once the heart of Valencia’s prosperous silk trade during the 15th century.

Valencia, an outdoor-oriented city, sees locals savoring coffee in sunlit plazas in true Mediterranean style. Visitors should not overlook a leisurely walk through the beautiful Turia Gardens, formerly a riverbed transformed into one of Spain’s largest city parks.

The city proudly boasts 20km of blue-flag beaches, home to some of the finest Paella eateries. Whether heading to nearby Cabanyal or Malvarrosa or venturing further to beaches like El Saler, visitors are spoiled for choice.

For those not keen on Paella, the Central Market presents a diverse selection of fresh produce, including tapas, delectable olives, and seafood delights.
