Wetherspoon has kicked off its January Sale at 600 pubs today, offering a pint of beer for as low as 99p. The discounted drinks lineup includes Worthington’s beer at 99p per pint, Coldwater Creek wine for £2.99 per 250ml glass, Johnnie Walker Black Label (25ml with a mixer) for £1.99, and Tanqueray gin (25ml with a mixer) for £1.99.
Additionally, a variety of low-alcohol and alcohol-free options are available, such as Guinness 0.0, Corona Cero, Brewdog Punk AF, Stella Artois Alcohol Free, Erdinger Isotonic, Thatchers zero, Koppaberg Alcohol Free, and Gordons 0.0 pink gin, each priced at £1.69. Beck’s Blue and Sanpellegrino Aranciata Rossa are on sale for 99p each.
Food discounts are also part of the promotion. Customers can opt for an 11-inch Margherita pizza or a chicken burger with chips for £4.99 with a soft drink, or £6.52 with an alcoholic beverage. Moreover, a choice of six jacket potatoes with various fillings is available for £4.99 with a soft drink or £6.52 with an alcoholic drink. Extra fillings or a side salad can be added for 99p.
New gourmet jacket potatoes are introduced, priced at £6.49 with a soft drink and £8.02 with an alcoholic drink. These include a loaded spud with cheese, maple-cured bacon, garlic butter, and sour cream, a Mexican spud with chilli bean non-carne, guacamole, and more, and a smoky potato with pulled BBQ beef brisket and chipotle mayo.
Wetherspoon founder and chairman Tim Martin expressed enthusiasm for the January Sale, noting that it caters to a wide range of tastes with an extensive selection of drinks and food, including low and non-alcoholic options. The sale will run in 600 pubs from January 2, extending until January 15, except in Scotland where it starts on January 3. Prices may vary at the other 200 Wetherspoon venues.
