Starting from December 15, families receiving Council Tax Support will receive a £50 voucher, while all other eligible households will receive a £70 voucher between December 3 and December 12. Eligible recipients do not need to apply for these vouchers as they will be automatically dispatched within 14 days of the specified dates. It is important for residents outside Wakefield to explore the support available through their local councils via the Household Support Fund. For instance, Blackpool Council is offering £200 energy assistance to qualifying households of one or two individuals, including children, and £300 for households with three or more individuals, including children.
To qualify for support, individuals must demonstrate financial hardship and difficulties in paying bills, requiring submission of recent bank statements for all household members. Claimants are not mandated to be in receipt of Universal Credit or other benefits, but can only receive one award within a 12-month period.
