The residence of United States Vice President JD Vance was targeted in an attack, resulting in broken windows. Secret service agents quickly responded to the incident at his home in Cincinnati early Monday morning, leading to the apprehension of a suspect. While Vance’s whereabouts during the attack remain undisclosed, he was known to have been in Florida the previous Friday, meeting with former President Donald Trump.
Vance had spent time with Trump at his golf club in West Palm Beach discussing plans regarding potential actions in Venezuela and the operation to remove Nicolas Maduro. Despite being briefed on the operation, Vance opted not to join the president and other officials at Mar-a-Lago to ensure operational secrecy. Instead, he observed the events through a secure video conference before returning to his Cincinnati residence.
In light of heightened security concerns, Vance’s office emphasized the need to minimize the Vice President and President being away from the White House simultaneously. Following the attack, law enforcement and secret service personnel were observed at the property, where multiple windows were found shattered. Fortunately, Vance and his family were reportedly not present during the incident, and a detained individual’s charges remain undisclosed.
The security measures surrounding Vance’s East Walnut Hills residence, including road closures during the New Year period, were part of ongoing efforts to safeguard the area. Residents were informed about designated security checkpoints, allowing limited access to those living within the closure zone. Vehicle and pedestrian checkpoints were established at specific locations, with alternative routes advised for drivers. Authorities urged caution and extra travel time due to the security arrangements in place.
