“Venezuelan Paramilitary Forces Target Pro-Trump Supporters”

Gun-toting paramilitary forces have been seen on the streets of Venezuela’s capital in search of individuals who show allegiance to Donald Trump and the US operation that captured Nicolas Maduro. These pro-Maduro groups, known as The Colectivos, have been observed patrolling Caracas with AK-47 rifles, inspecting phones and vehicles for any signs of support for Trump and the US involvement in Venezuela.

The recent display of these armed groups follows the Venezuelan government’s declaration of a 90-day state of emergency to apprehend anyone linked to promoting or backing the US-led attack on the nation. The Colectivos have been photographed alongside Diosdado Cabello, Maduro’s Minister of Interior, Justice, and Peace, who maintains Maduro’s legitimacy as the country’s leader despite US intervention.

Amid the political unrest, Cabello affirmed Maduro’s presidency, stating, “Here, the revolutionary force’s unity is assured, and Nicolas Maduro Moros is the sole president.” Videos circulating on social media show Cabello in the company of motorcycle gang members pledging loyalty and vowing to resist US interference in Venezuela’s affairs.

Reports reveal that this paramilitary group has detained 14 journalists temporarily and is applying pressure on the military to support the government. Cabello’s message to military personnel emphasized unity and perseverance in the face of perceived threats against the government.

The turmoil in Venezuela escalated after the US military apprehended President Maduro and his wife in an overnight operation. Maduro, now held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in New York City, appeared in court asserting his status as a “president and prisoner of war.” The arrest has sparked fear among those opposing Maduro, with concerns about surveillance and potential imprisonment for dissenting views.
