“Unseen Elvis Footage Revealed in New Film”

In a captivating scene, a dazzling white flared trouser leg adorned with studs moves energetically, accompanied by the soulful sound of Elvis resonating in the background.

Recently discovered images reveal Elvis Presley, donned in his iconic Vegas white suit, making his way to the stage amidst a large entourage, serenading the audience with the powerful lyrics of the Battle Hymn of the Republic.

Filmmaker Baz Luhrmann unearthed previously unseen footage of Elvis Presley’s seven-year residency in Las Vegas, starting in 1969, along with rediscovered audio capturing intimate moments of the legendary singer’s life. This exclusive archive material will be featured in Luhrmann’s upcoming film “EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert,” set for release next month.

Elvis Aaron Presley, born in Tulepo, Mississippi to Vernon and Gladys Presley, would have celebrated his 90th birthday on January 8. However, the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, who achieved rapid success with hits like “Heartbreak Hotel,” tragically passed away from heart failure at the age of 42 in 1977 at his Graceland residence in Memphis, Tennessee.

Despite his untimely death, Elvis’s legacy remains strong, with the newly discovered Vegas footage and unreleased recordings from his 1972 North American tour generating significant excitement among fans.

Director Luhrmann describes his film as a unique blend of documentary and concert experience, enabling Elvis to embark on the global tour he never had the chance to undertake in person, by bringing the archival material directly to his worldwide fanbase.

Elvis, known for his chart-topping singles and iconic movies, rarely toured extensively. Instead, he focused on his music career and engagements like his renowned Vegas residency, where he captivated audiences with his electrifying performances.

The film “EPiC” is expected to captivate audiences with its unseen footage, including a rare video from Elvis’s legendary 1957 concert in Hawaii. Luhrmann’s personal highlight from the discoveries is the unheard recordings of Elvis candidly discussing his life and music.

Most of the unreleased footage was originally shot for Elvis’s concert films in the early 1970s, which have now been meticulously restored by Luhrmann’s team over the past two years. The painstaking process involved salvaging audio from various unconventional sources that were also uncovered.

With the promise of shedding light on Elvis’s perspective on his life and career, the upcoming film is poised to be a game-changer for fans eagerly awaiting a deeper understanding of the music icon’s journey.

“EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert” is scheduled to premiere in the UK on February 20, 2026, in IMAX format, followed by a wider release on February 27, 2026.
