Trudeau on flight path to Florida in wake of Donald Trump’s tariff threat

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s plane appears to be heading to West Palm Beach, Fla., according to a public flight tracker.

The airport in West Palm Beach is used by Donald Trump when the U.S. president-elect travels to his Mar-a-Lago estate. Trump has been meeting with his transition team at Mar-a-Lago in recent weeks.

The Prime Minister’s Office has refused to comment on the trip. But a source speaking on the condition that they not be named has told CBC News that Trudeau returned to Ottawa from a press conference in P.E.I. on Friday to pick up a cabinet minister and fly to the U.S.

Trump said Monday night he would impose a 25 per cent tax on all goods imported from Canada and Mexico unless both countries stop what he calls an “invasion” of drugs, “in particular Fentanyl, and all Illegal Aliens” into the United States.
