In the latest testing by Ookla, major mobile providers in the UK underwent assessment, revealing that Three Mobile leads in offering fast download speeds for on-the-go streaming. Three Mobile surpassed its competitors and secured the top spot with an average download speed of 214Mbps, outperforming other major networks by over 80Mbps. This speed is twice as fast as the average fixed-line broadband speed in the UK.
According to Ookla, Three excelled in overall speed performance, earning it the top position in the rankings. Vodafone followed in second place, with EE ranking third. O2 ranked at the bottom in all categories, offering the slowest speeds among the providers.
Ookla confirmed these results by stating, “3 is the Fastest 5G Network in the United Kingdom, Q3–Q4 2025. The Speedtest Award for Fastest Network is based on Speed Score, reflecting a network’s throughput and responsiveness through a combination of download and upload speeds along with latency metrics.”
