A horrifying abduction took place in a forest where two teenagers were coerced into a vehicle, stabbed, and compelled to dig their own graves, possibly tied to drug-related conflicts, as per police reports.
The incident unfolded on Friday night, January 2, when the victims, aged 14 and 16, were taken from a hotel parking area in Carquefou, near Nantes, by several masked individuals. Witnesses observed the teenagers being forced into a car. Despite swift police intervention, the teenagers and the vehicle vanished without a trace.
Around 3:00 am, a resident of La Chapelle-sur-Erdre, about ten kilometers away, found the injured boys at his doorstep. Both youths displayed visible injuries, including bloody faces, cut fingers, and signs of severe distress.
One of the teenagers sustained a stab wound to the thigh. The resident promptly alerted authorities and administered initial aid. Subsequently, the victims were admitted to Nantes University Hospital for medical attention.
As per their accounts to investigators, the teenagers were taken to a nearby forest, confined in a car trunk, and subjected to severe physical abuse. The assailants stripped and assaulted them, while also issuing death threats.
Allegedly, a gun was held to their heads, and they were coerced to excavate a pit with their hands, potentially for their own burial. Following the victims’ descriptions, the police located the specified site, uncovering the teenagers’ discarded attire and the dug-out hole.
The Nantes public prosecutor, Antoine Leroy, affirmed the initiation of an investigation into the case, involving charges of kidnapping, unlawful detention, and violent acts.
Authorities from the regional criminal investigation department suspect a potential link between the assault and disputes within the drug trade, likely stemming from conflicts among traffickers.
The younger victim, originally from Angers, had reportedly been evading capture for several months before the abduction. Both teenagers have provided their testimonies to the authorities, though they appeared hesitant to divulge full details of the ordeal.
The investigation is being led by the gendarmes of Nantes’ research brigade. Prosecutor Leroy mentioned progress in identifying the culprits behind the violent abduction, with no confirmed arrests made at this stage.
