A live streamer tragically passed away while participating in a challenge involving cocaine and alcohol for a select group of subscribers. Sergio Jimenez Ramos was found lifeless in his bedroom, his body stiff and head resting on the mattress, clutching his phone. In the room, his family discovered a nearly empty whisky bottle, energy drink cans, and cocaine on a tray.
During the incident, viewers on the webcam reportedly questioned Sergio’s consumption progress, asking if he was feeling the effects of the substances. Emergency services responded to the family’s location in Vilanova i la Geltrú, near Barcelona, where Sergio, aged 37, was pronounced dead on December 31.
Investigators suspect that Sergio passed away during a private video session watched by paying subscribers, where he was expected to consume a bottle of whisky and six grams of cocaine within a short time frame. Sergio had previously been banned from public streaming platforms for violating drug consumption rules.
In recent months, Sergio had joined live broadcasts and private video sessions organized by another streamer known for extreme stunts. The organizer mentioned that Sergio had set up his own group after observing the activities.
The organizer denied any responsibility for Sergio’s death, emphasizing that he had warned Sergio about the dangers of excessive drug use. Sergio, who had a history of substance abuse and was undergoing psychiatric treatment, left behind a grieving family seeking justice.
Authorities are investigating donations made to Sergio’s account to identify possible contributors. Friends of Sergio expressed anger in local media, accusing those who facilitated the purchase of drugs and alcohol as responsible for his tragic demise.
