“Sky Unveils Enhanced Features for Glass TVs & Stream Boxes”

Sky has recently launched a significant update for its popular Glass TVs and Stream boxes, and the best part is that it’s a complimentary upgrade for all users of these devices. The latest update, which has started rolling out to homes, brings various new features. Users can now control Sky’s internet-connected devices using their smartphones and set program reminders for any listings in the TV guide.

Additionally, the settings menu has been revamped for easier navigation, and new accessibility options have been incorporated, such as enhanced contrast controls for text and backgrounds within Sky apps. The company stated, “Sky’s continuously evolving operating system, Sky OS, has been enhanced to provide Sky Glass and Stream customers with even smarter TV control.”

For owners of Sky Glass TV, Sky Glass Air device, or Sky Stream box, all these new features will soon be available without the need for manual updates or settings adjustments as the update will be automatically installed.

The update brings several enhancements to the viewing experience. Users now have the ability to set reminders for favorite shows, ensuring they never miss important broadcasts. Moreover, a new digital Sky remote app is available for controlling the TV, offering quick access to favorite shows, channel changes, and playback management on iOS and Android devices. The remote app also includes built-in accessibility features like screen reader support.

Sky has simplified its settings, making them more accessible. Users can now access settings quickly by pressing the three dots on the remote and scrolling right, without the need to scroll down. The quick access menu has been relocated for faster navigation to settings like picture and sound, parental controls, and accessibility.

Furthermore, the update introduces a range of new accessibility features. Users can now customize the voice guidance speed and access High contrast mode in Sky apps. Additionally, magnification mode allows zooming in up to 400% and panning across the UI using the number keys on the remote. Moreover, Audio Description is now available on-demand for Sky shows, providing an enhanced experience for visually impaired viewers.

Overall, the latest update from Sky brings a host of new features and improvements to enhance the viewing experience for all users of Sky Glass and Stream devices.
