Sky has made a surprising announcement by bringing back one of its beloved channels. The popular Sky One channel is set to return to screens later this month, following its closure in 2021. The network promises a lineup of engaging comedy and entertainment shows, including new programs like The Dyers’ Caravan Park and Gemma Collins: Four Weddings and a Baby.
Viewers can also look forward to returning favorites such as Rob & Romesh Vs., The Paper, and Ted, all accessible on channel 106. Additionally, Sky One will feature Saturday Night Live UK, set to debut later this year.
Replacing Sky Showcase and Sky Max, the relaunched channel merges a diverse range of entertainment offerings in one place, simplifying the viewing experience for audiences seeking must-see content.
Carli Kerr, Managing Director of Sky TV & NOW, expressed, “Our aim is to enhance the accessibility of beloved shows for Sky TV customers. Drawing from the rich legacy of Sky One, the channel will be a distinctive hub that is vibrant, dynamic, and full of energy, showcasing new Sky Originals like The Dyers’ Caravan Park, returning hits such as Rob & Romesh Vs., and serving as the home of the highly anticipated Saturday Night Live UK.”
Sky One will officially launch on channel 106 on Tuesday, February 24, providing viewers with a new entertainment destination.
The channel update news coincides with Sky’s announcement of a major upcoming event this month. In an invitation to Mirror Online, the company teased, “Big things are coming to Sky TV. Join us to find out more.”
This development has sparked curiosity among Sky TV subscribers, as the network typically hosts in-person events for significant reveals. Speculation is rife about what surprises might be unveiled.
Mirror Online will cover the event live from London’s West End, providing real-time updates as news unfolds. The announcement is scheduled to commence at around 10am on February 11.
