Major UK Internet Service Providers (ISPs) recently notified customers about upcoming price increases, set to take effect in April. Sky, a prominent ISP, had already raised monthly fees by approximately 6%, and now, in a surprising move, they have announced an additional price hike for users accessing their NOW platform.
Starting July 4, 2025, customers using NOW services will see a £3 increase in their bills. This adjustment will impact subscribers on plans like Brilliant Broadband, Fab Fibre, and Super Fibre.
A spokesperson from NOW acknowledged that while price hikes are never welcomed, they are necessary to enhance and invest in their services. Customers will receive a minimum 31-day notice about the changes, with the option to exit their contracts without penalties within the same period.
NOW attributed the price adjustments to investments made to enhance their offerings and the ongoing cost pressures they face, including wholesale expenses and service improvements. It is advisable for consumers to explore different ISP options, including both major providers like BT, Virgin, and Sky, as well as emerging smaller networks that may offer faster speeds at competitive prices.
