“Rob Reiner’s Son’s Detention Changes Before Court”

Rob Reiner’s son, who is accused of the murder of his parents in their Brentwood residence, has reportedly experienced changes to his detention conditions before a crucial court appearance. The tragic deaths of the renowned filmmaker Rob and his wife Michelle last month have deeply affected Hollywood. Their son, Nick, 32, has been formally charged with two counts of first-degree murder related to the incident, with an additional allegation of using a knife.

Nick, one of the Reiners’ three children, is currently detained without bail and had been placed under suicide watch initially. At his first court appearance, he was seen wearing a blue protective jacket, suspected to be a suicide-prevention vest. Although he was initially under strict surveillance, it has been disclosed by a source that he is no longer on suicide watch.

Reportedly, Nick is confined in isolation at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles, where he is required to wear specific attire, including blue trousers and a yellow jail-issued shirt. Initially, he was mandated to wear a suicide-prevention garment at all times, but this requirement has been altered according to PEOPLE.

A sheriff source mentioned that despite being removed from suicide watch, Nick will stay in High Observation Housing (HOH) unless determined otherwise by a court or judge. He continues to be closely monitored while in solitary confinement.

Prior to the tragic event, reports from various sources indicated that Nick had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and was undergoing treatment for mental health issues. Allegedly, adjustments to his medication shortly before the incident led to increased instability, exacerbating the existing challenges.

Nick had recently sought treatment at a specialized mental health and addiction rehabilitation facility in Los Angeles. The facility, known for catering to affluent families seeking assistance for their children, reportedly charges around $70,000 per month.

A sheriff source provided details on Nick’s current detention conditions to PEOPLE, emphasizing that while he is no longer on suicide watch, he remains under mental health supervision. He continues to be monitored closely, escorted when leaving his cell, and is housed in a designated mental health tower.

The discovery of Rob and Michele’s bodies prompted a swift police response, with Nick being apprehended the same night. Nick’s arraignment is scheduled for January 7th.
