“Ofcom Report: Complaints Drop, Plusnet Tops Broadband Sector”

The latest report from Ofcom reveals the current status of consumer complaints in the broadband, TV, and telecoms sectors. Complaints have decreased overall since the beginning of 2025, indicating an improvement in service quality. Ofcom stated that complaints decreased in the second quarter of 2025 compared to the previous quarter.

EE, a broadband provider owned by BT, ranked poorly in customer complaints, while Plusnet, also a BT subsidiary, received the fewest complaints, making it the top performer in the broadband sector.

Broadband complaints per 100,000 customers were as follows:
– Plusnet: 4 complaints
– Sky: 6 complaints
– Virgin Media: 8 complaints
– BT: 9 complaints
– TalkTalk: 9 complaints
– NOW: 9 complaints
– Vodafone: 9 complaints
– EE: 10 complaints

Besides broadband, Ofcom also investigated complaints in landline, mobile, and pay-TV services. Utility Warehouse excelled in landline services with zero complaints per 100,000 customers, while EE received the most complaints. TalkTalk and Sky were recommended choices for TV services, with EE receiving the highest number of complaints.

In mobile services, EE, Vodafone, and Tesco Mobile tied for the lowest number of complaints per 100,000 customers.

According to USwitch, the latest data from Ofcom indicates a significant decrease in complaints across various services, emphasizing the importance of good connectivity. While EE received the most complaints, there was a positive trend with a decrease in complaints this quarter. Service issues remain the main driver of complaints, highlighting the need for providers to improve service quality amidst annual price increases. Consumers are advised to regularly compare deals and switch providers if their needs are not met adequately.
