“Nvidia’s £43.6B Sales Surge Sparks Global Stock Market Rally”

Global stock markets experienced a significant rebound of £200 billion on Thursday following reassuring comments from the CEO of the world’s largest company regarding concerns over an AI bubble.

Nvidia, a prominent US tech giant involved in AI technology development, reported a remarkable 62% surge in sales to £43.6 billion for the quarter ending in October. CEO Jensen Huang dismissed AI bubble speculations, stating a different perspective from their observations.

The positive results from Nvidia triggered a global stock market rally, with the FTSE All World Index, encompassing major markets worldwide, climbing by 0.3%. In the UK, the FTSE 100 surged nearly 70 points during mid-morning trading, though it still remains below recent highs.

Recent weeks saw a substantial decline in the value of tech companies amid concerns of inflated valuations leading to fears of a potential market bubble burst, impacting various investors from individuals to pension funds.

Nvidia’s strong performance also lifted the shares of competitors like Google’s parent company Alphabet and Microsoft. Market experts viewed Nvidia’s results positively, with some suggesting that it may not entirely eliminate fears of an AI bubble but indicates potential growth opportunities.

Investment professionals welcomed Nvidia’s robust earnings, citing a sense of stability in markets after a period of uncertainty. The market had awaited Nvidia’s results anxiously, and the company’s impressive performance provided a boost in investor confidence.

Victoria Scholar, head of investment at Interactive Investor, praised Nvidia’s exceptional earnings, highlighting a return of optimism in the AI sector despite recent challenges. She noted that while concerns of overvaluations persist, Nvidia’s results justify high valuations and suggest further potential growth in AI stocks.
