“New Banksy Artwork Sparks Global Location Hunt”

Elusive street artist Banksy caused excitement this week by sharing images of his latest creation on Instagram. The artwork features a lighthouse silhouette with the mysterious message, “I want to be what you see in me,” sparking speculation among followers about its location.

The lack of a caption or specific details in the photos left fans playing detective to determine where the artwork might be situated globally. Social media users, particularly on Instagram and X, have put forward theories, with many suggesting that the piece could be in southern France, specifically Marseille.

While one enthusiast on X proposed a new Banksy style in Marseille, others on Instagram delved into the symbolism of the lighthouse, pondering its significance. Some even went as far as pinpointing the exact location of the artwork in Marseille.

The meaning behind the artwork remains a puzzle, with some speculating that the quote included in it may be inspired by the song ‘Lonely’ by Lonestar. Banksy’s works often carry political themes, touching on issues like immigration, homelessness, and conflicts such as that in Ukraine.

In a separate instance, Banksy undertook a nine-day spree in London in 2024, unveiling a series of animal-themed artworks across the city. These pieces, created in his distinctive black stencil style, included various animals like monkeys, wolves, pelicans, goats, cats, and elephants at different locations in London.

Banksy’s artistry ranges from politically charged murals to cryptic messages, keeping the public intrigued and engaged with his creations.
