Man Faces Trial for Fraud, Foster Mother’s Remains Found

A man is scheduled to go to trial facing multiple charges after the discovery of his foster mother’s remains buried on a ranch where they resided together.

Cedric Von Ferdinand is facing various charges, including fraud and forgery, as ruled by a judge, following the detection of his foster mother’s body in July. The deceased had been missing since December 2023. Investigative efforts at Jett’s Valley Center, Calif., Ranch led to the unearthing of skeletal remains identified as those belonging to Nadine Jett, aged 65.

Von Ferdinand, who was providing care for his foster mother during her battle with pancreatic cancer, has been accused of numerous fraud offenses. Allegations include assuming her power of attorney and forging signatures, as per a criminal complaint. Von Ferdinand is currently not in custody, and no charges have been filed against him in connection with Ms. Jett’s death.

Ms. Jett’s foster daughters, identical quadruplets, became concerned when their mother vanished in 2023. Von Ferdinand informed them that she had passed away in Mexico. Tiffany Lucci, one of the daughters, expressed that they were kept away from their mother by Von Ferdinand, leaving them feeling isolated.

Despite uncertainty regarding the start of the investigation into Jett’s disappearance, her daughters took matters into their own hands, interviewing neighbors and visiting the property. They discovered the property had been emptied out, as Tiffany informed local media.

An estate agent working with Von Ferdinand became suspicious while attempting to sell the ranch, according to FOX 5. Von Ferdinand reportedly requested that a rose garden be planted on the property in memory of Ms. Jett.

Mr. Lawton, the estate agent, claimed that Von Ferdinand indicated a spot on the property, which Tiffany believes is where Ms. Jett’s remains were found. Mr. Lawton expressed sympathy for the daughters, stating that discovering their mother was a bittersweet moment.

Tiffany and her siblings are holding onto memories as they come to terms with their mother’s loss. She fondly recalls her mother as a loving and caring individual.

Von Ferdinand and Raymond Joseph Alto, identified as a notary public, are facing over 40 charges, including forgery, identity theft, perjury, and grand theft, as per a criminal complaint reported by People. Both individuals have pleaded not guilty to the charges. However, they have been ordered to stand trial by a judge, as per reports from People and the Valley Road Runner.
