“London Hunger Striker in Critical Condition Sparks Government Concern”

The family of a hunger striker in prison is deeply concerned and has urgently appealed to the government. Kamran Ahmed, a 28-year-old from London, has been on a hunger strike for 44 days to protest in support of Palestine. He is currently held in HMP Pentonville for allegedly breaking into a UK site of an Israel-based defense company near Patchway, Bristol.

Despite being hospitalized due to critical health issues during his hunger strike, Ahmed remains committed to his cause, even expressing readiness to sacrifice his life for it. Concerns have been raised about the lack of response from Justice Secretary David Lammy, despite legal action threats from Palestine Action.

The Ministry of Justice has refuted claims of neglecting the hunger strikers, emphasizing the importance of providing support for their well-being without incentivizing further hunger strikes. Kamran’s family, especially his sister Shahmina, has been actively seeking intervention from authorities to ensure his safety and well-being.

With ongoing tensions regarding the hunger strike, questions have been raised about the government’s response to the situation. The family is anxiously awaiting updates on Kamran’s condition, with concerns about his deteriorating health in prison. Despite government officials stating adherence to protocols, the family continues to advocate for more humane treatment and consideration for the hunger strikers’ well-being.
