EE has upgraded its broadband services, surpassing competitors like Sky and Virgin Media. The company now includes Smart Hub 7 Plus routers with all broadband packages, offering faster speeds and improved coverage through WiFi 7 technology. WiFi 7 provides speeds up to 46 Gbps, lower latency, and higher capacity, making it ideal for gaming and high-speed downloads.
Monthly prices for EE broadband range from £28.99 to £39.99, with the super-fast 900 Mbps package being the most expensive. Unlike Sky, EE provides its Smart Hub 7 Plus with all packages, while Virgin Media does not yet offer a WiFi 7 router.
Although EE leads in broadband offerings, not all devices are compatible with WiFi 7, and its range may be limited for larger households. Despite this, EE’s broadband is future-proofed for gaming and streaming needs. Additionally, EE entices new customers with up to £300 in exit fees for switching to their service.
Uswitch praises EE broadband for its strong and reliable service but suggests that those seeking cost-saving options may find better alternatives. Providers like Plusnet, NOW Broadband, or TalkTalk may offer similar speeds at lower prices. However, EE is renowned for its customer service and reliability, potentially resulting in fewer issues during the contract period, particularly with slightly higher-priced packages.
