Alton Towers Resort has introduced two spine-chilling new experiences for Scarefest 2025.
The event, starting on September 27 at the Staffordshire amusement park, will run on weekends until November 2.
One of the fresh attractions is the Edge of the Forest, a live-action scare maze nestled in the eerie Dark Forest. Brave souls venturing inside will face terrifying tree-like creatures and the enigmatic Leshwall spirit believed to manipulate minds and trees.
In addition to the maze, Alton Towers Resort has unveiled a new scare zone called Dark Hollow for 2025. This outdoor area immerses visitors deeper into the world of TH13TEEN within the Dark Forest. A chilling presence lurks in the shadows, drawing thrill-seekers into its eerie realm.
Visitors in the Dark Hollow are on a mission to uncover the mysteries surrounding sightings of “The Twisted,” forest-dwelling entities said to punish those disrupting nature’s balance.
Bianca Sammut, Vice President of Alton Towers Resort, stated, “We continuously strive for top-notch thrills at Alton Towers Resort, and our latest scare experiences, The Edge of the Forest and Dark Hollow, are no exception. These new additions bring the macabre essence of the Dark Forest to life in bone-chilling ways, and we are excited to see fearless fans take on the challenge during Scarefest 2025.”
As part of the 2025 Scarefest lineup, Alton Towers Resort confirmed the return of several popular attractions.
Guests can revisit the Altonville Mine Tours, delve into the eerie depths of the COMPOUND scare maze (introduced in 2024), and meander through the sinister ambiance of the Burial Ground scare zone.
For younger attendees, Trick O’ Treat Town with HARIBO and MAOAM offers a fun and spooky walk-through experience where visitors explore Spooky Avenue and the Witchy Woods, encountering sweet treats and playful tricks along the way.
Families can anticipate the revival of Amigos in the Afterlife, a colorful celebration inspired by Dia de los Muertos.
As dusk descends, guests can experience the resort’s roller coasters in the dark, including Wicker Man, Oblivion, and the new addition for 2025, Toxicator, as part of the night-time rides.
