Criticism Mounts as Trump Stumbles at Davos

Donald Trump faced criticism for his speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, where he targeted several countries, including the UK, Denmark, and Switzerland. Observers expressed concern over his health as he appeared to struggle to stay awake and slurred his words during the lengthy address.

The US President raised various contentious issues, such as his disdain for windmills, his belief that Europe is on the wrong path, and his claims of election rigging. He also sparked controversy by demanding that Denmark surrender Greenland, calling them “ungrateful” for past protection.

Trump’s journey to Switzerland was marred by a minor electrical issue on Air Force One, causing a delay in his arrival in Davos. When he finally made it to the event, he skipped the usual photo opportunity and went straight to deliver his speech, appearing unsteady and fatigued.

During his speech, Trump criticized the UK for its wind energy policies, claiming they had drastically reduced energy production. This came after UK opposition leader Keir Starmer publicly opposed Trump’s stance on Greenland.

Trump further stirred controversy by insisting that Denmark should hand over Greenland to the US, citing historical reasons and questioning Denmark’s ability to defend the territory. Despite his strong rhetoric, he emphasized that he preferred not to use force in acquiring Greenland.

In addition to his Greenland remarks, Trump also recounted a story about imposing tariffs on Swiss watches, suggesting that Switzerland was taking advantage of the US. He also made comments about French President Emmanuel Macron’s sunglasses, eliciting laughter from the audience.

Throughout the speech, Trump’s delivery was criticized for being slurred and his demeanor for appearing tired, raising questions about his ability to handle the demands of the presidency.
