Jodie Marsh faced immense sorrow as a fire erupted at her animal sanctuary, resulting in the tragic loss of two animals. Local firefighters swiftly responded to the incident at Fripps Farm in Essex on Saturday, where the blaze claimed the lives of two marmosets. The fire, believed to be accidental and ignited by an electrical device, originated on the first floor around 5 pm.
A representative from Essex County Fire and Rescue Service disclosed that firefighters arrived at the scene in Lindsell, Dunmow, following a distress call at 4:56 pm. Upon arrival, the property was engulfed in smoke, and the fire was identified in an upstairs bedroom. The dedicated crews worked diligently to extinguish the flames and prevent further spread.
Nestled in the serene countryside, Jodie’s animal sanctuary spans five acres near the historic town of Saffron Walden. The sanctuary houses a myriad of rescued animals, including emus, llamas, alpacas, goats, sheep, cows, pigs, and deer, alongside peacocks, chickens, geese, and ducks roaming freely.
In addition to conventional farm animals, the sanctuary features various enclosures hosting marmosets, foxes, meerkats, skunks, wolf-dogs, and snakes, as reported by Essex Live. Jodie invests around £25,000 monthly to sustain Fripps Farm, covering expenses for full-time and part-time staff, animal care, and overseeing operations with the assistance of 15 volunteers.
While some funding is sourced through social media platforms like OnlyFans, controversies have emerged regarding allegations of animal mistreatment and poor living conditions at the sanctuary. Critics claim that Jodie predominantly purchases animals rather than rescuing them, prompting scrutiny over her possession of exotic pets. Despite these accusations, Jodie vehemently refutes such claims.
