“Man Admits Two Terrorism Acts: Pub Fire, Police Attack”

A man has admitted to committing two acts of terrorism by setting fire to a pub owned by Conor McGregor and attacking two police officers with a knife.

Abdullah Khan, aged 24, faced charges of arson at the Black Forge Inn, located on Drimnagh Road in Dublin, on July 25 of the previous year. The pub sustained damage when Khan set fire to its front. Additionally, four days later, he allegedly assaulted the police officers in downtown Dublin.

Khan was accused of causing harm to one officer and attempting to harm another. During a hearing at the Special Criminal Court, Khan’s defense lawyer, Michael Bowman SC, noted a complex psychological history related to the case and requested a comprehensive evaluation of the defendant.

The defendant, residing in Dublin under a court-ordered anonymity, was indicted on eight charges. Apart from the assaults on the officers, he was charged with producing a knife during the same encounter and two counts of endangerment for engaging in behavior that posed a significant risk of harm or death.

Reports indicated that the police officers defended themselves by using tools such as batons and pepper spray to subdue Khan before taking him into custody.

Khan also faced charges of engaging in terrorist activities during the incidents on July 25 and 29 of the preceding year. He pleaded guilty to all eight charges in front of the three-judge panel at the non-jury court, as reported by the Irish Mirror.

Justice Karen O’Connor postponed the proceedings for victim impact statements and scheduled the next court appearance for March 23, with the defendant remaining in custody.
