Travelling can often come with a hefty price tag, especially when factoring in the cost of flights for international trips. However, a new offering from a major airline presents British and European travelers with the chance to secure complimentary flights, albeit with certain conditions for booking.
In an effort to combat overtourism in well-known destinations, All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan’s largest airline, has teamed up with the Japan National Tourism Organisation (JNTO) to provide complimentary domestic flights during the winter season. This initiative allows travelers to receive two free internal flights upon booking an inbound international flight.
The goal is to inspire travelers to discover Japan’s less-visited regions, showcasing its diverse landscapes and picturesque coastlines beyond the popular spots like Tokyo and Kyoto. This presents a unique opportunity to delve into Japan’s culture and explore its hidden gems while steering clear of large crowds.
With ANA serving over 40 destinations across Japan under this promotion, travelers have a myriad of stunning locations to choose from, including Fukuoka, Hokkaido, and Nagasaki. Adventurous souls can even journey to the Okinawa Islands, known for their pristine beaches and azure waters reminiscent of the ‘Maldives of Japan.’
To qualify for the complimentary domestic flights, travelers must originate from the UK or Europe and book their international flight to Japan through ANA. The promotion runs from November 24 to January 31, 2026, with the flexibility for flights to occur outside this period.
Under this scheme, passengers will receive standard class flights and may be responsible for taxes and visa fees based on their chosen destination. Notably, domestic flights need not be round-trip from the same airport, offering travelers more flexibility to explore Japan.
ANA aims to simplify regional exploration and make it more affordable through this limited-time offer, aiming to foster deeper connections with Japan’s diverse cultural regions in a sustainable manner.
For more information and flight bookings, interested individuals can visit the ANA website. ANA has also provided sample itineraries featuring stays in Tokyo followed by excursions to hidden gems to streamline the booking process.
