“Russia Warns of Catastrophe if Trump Proceeds with Greenland Acquisition”

Russia has issued a severe warning of catastrophic consequences if President Donald Trump proceeds with his intention to acquire Greenland. The US president, described as “eccentric,” aims to strategically position nuclear forces on the world’s largest island to gain an edge in nuclear capabilities over Russia and China, as stated by Dmitry Rogozin.

Rogozin, a Putin-supporting senator representing part of Ukraine, a former deputy prime minister, and ex-head of the Russian Space Agency, has expressed concerns that Trump’s Greenland acquisition plans could lead to a global catastrophe. He alleges that the move is linked to a US initiative for a missile defense system named the ‘Golden Dome,’ which integrates space technology, artificial intelligence, and a layered defense structure.

According to Rogozin, Greenland’s Arctic location and proximity to Russia make it an ideal strategic position for the US to enhance its missile defense capabilities and offensive nuclear capabilities. He claims that Trump’s actions align with the Pentagon’s agenda to seize Greenland forcefully and transform it into a hub for deploying nuclear attack assets and interceptors against Russian intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs).

Rogozin warns that the pursuit of Greenland by the US could destabilize the global strategic balance that has prevented nuclear conflict since World War II. He highlights the potential risks associated with such actions, particularly in the context of advancing nuclear technologies and the potential for a future nuclear conflict.

Moreover, Rogozin emphasizes the historical context of US military interests in Greenland, citing past attempts to establish missile bases under the ice as part of the Iceworm project during the 1960s. He notes the technological advancements since then and the strategic significance of the Arctic region in potential nuclear conflicts between the US and Russia.

Rogozin concludes by asserting that Greenland’s acquisition by the US is perceived as a strategic move to gain nuclear superiority over Russia and China, which could trigger catastrophic consequences and mark the beginning of a global disaster. He highlights the Arctic as a critical theater for potential nuclear confrontations due to its strategic value for missile delivery and the exchange of nuclear strikes between major powers.
