Sky has unveiled an exciting new update that is generating a lot of buzz. The television provider has announced a compelling subscription package that combines several top-tier streaming services at a reduced monthly rate. Priced at just £24 per month, both new and current subscribers will soon have access to Disney+, Netflix, Hayu, and the highly anticipated HBO Max app, scheduled for launch next month.
According to Sky, this bundled offering delivers exceptional value, providing approximately £20 worth of streaming apps for a fraction of the cost. Considering that Sky’s basic plan is priced at £15 per month, the additional content effectively comes at a mere £9 extra.
Furthermore, customers subscribed to the Ultimate TV plan will enjoy a broad selection of over 130 channels, including Sky Comedy, Sky Documentaries, Sky Crime, Sky History, and more.
In another perk for Sky Cinema users, a dedicated Disney movie channel is being integrated directly into their planner. This feature allows viewers to enjoy Disney blockbusters without needing to open the Disney+ app separately.
Existing Disney+ subscribers who sign up through Sky can seamlessly transfer their current plan, whether it is Standard or Premium, while retaining their profiles and viewing history.
Sky has confirmed that all supported apps will be easily accessible from the homepage, with content fully integrated. This functionality enables users to discover shows and movies through voice search and save them to a Playlist for later watching.
The new Sky Ultimate plan will be available across Sky Glass, Sky Stream, and Sky Q platforms.
Sophia Ahmad, Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, emphasized that this update signifies a “new era” for Sky and NOW, bringing together Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu under one subscription. She highlighted the integrated viewing experience and exceptional value for customers, particularly noting that HBO Max is included at no extra charge for NOW Entertainment subscribers.
Sky’s focus on innovation continues with this move, simplifying the process for viewers to access premium entertainment in a single location.
The package includes the following:
– Netflix Standard with Ads
– Disney+ Standard with Ads (available from March, exact date pending)
– HBO Max Basic with Ads (launching in the UK & Ireland on 26th March)
– Hayu (available from July, with select top shows accessible from March)
– PLUS: Over 130 channels from Sky
