Country music legend Jim McBride has sadly passed away at 78 years old. The acclaimed songwriter, known for his collaborations with Reba McEntire and Alan Jackson, died unexpectedly on January 6 following a fall. McBride penned hits such as Chattahoochee and Chasing that Neon Rainbow for Alan Jackson.

In a heartfelt tribute, fellow songwriter Jerry Salley expressed his shock and sorrow at the sudden loss of his close friend. Salley shared that McBride had succumbed to injuries sustained from a fall the previous week.

McBride leaves behind a lasting legacy in the Nashville music scene. He was honored with inductions into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2017 and the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in 1995.
