“Darting Prodigy, 15, Makes History at WDF Championship”

A young darting prodigy, Mitchell Lawrie, born in 2010, has impressed Luke Littler with his exceptional skills on the Lakeside stage during the WDF World Championship. Lawrie, at just 15 years old, made history by becoming the youngest player to secure a victory at Lakeside, defeating Tomoya Maruyama and Jason Brandon with remarkable performances, including hitting five maximums and showcasing outstanding checkouts.

Lawrie also achieved the highest average of 97.21 at the tournament. Littler expressed his amazement at Lawrie’s talent on the WDF Darts Instagram account, describing him as extraordinary. Lawrie, filled with pride, reflected on his win against Brandon, acknowledging the challenge posed by the experienced player.

Despite Lawrie’s strong start in the match, Brandon’s resurgence pushed Lawrie to elevate his game, ultimately leading to a comfortable victory. Lawrie admitted a slight lapse in concentration but credited the crowd for their support, especially when he narrowly missed a potential nine-dart finish.

Looking ahead, the PDC World Darts Championship is set to begin on December 11, with exclusive live coverage available through Sky’s Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle.
