“Mercedes’ Support for Hamilton Amid Ferrari Struggles”

Mercedes’ head of communications has revealed that team principal Toto Wolff has been supporting former driver Lewis Hamilton through a tough season at Ferrari. The seven-time world champion has faced challenges adapting to the team due to performance issues with the car and questionable race strategies.

Hamilton’s struggles were highlighted at the recent Qatar Grand Prix where he failed to advance from Q1 in qualifying and finished outside the points in 12th place despite a comeback effort during the race. Currently placed sixth in the drivers’ standings, Hamilton risks dropping to seventh after the final race in Abu Dhabi.

Expressing frustration with his debut season at Ferrari, Hamilton has described 2025 as his “worst season ever,” despite giving his all on and off the track. Mercedes, his former team, has shown support by engaging in discussions to assist Hamilton through this challenging period, with Wolff even accompanying him to race venues.

In a statement to CHAMP1, Mercedes’ chief communications officer Bradley Lord expressed empathy for Hamilton’s situation, acknowledging the dedication and effort Hamilton puts into his work. Despite the setbacks, Mercedes remains optimistic about Hamilton’s potential as a top performer in the sport.

As Hamilton prepares for the season finale in Abu Dhabi, aiming to maintain his sixth-place standing in the drivers’ rankings, he faces the final outing with the current Ferrari model before anticipated changes. Team principal Fred Vasseur has urged the team to persevere for a victorious conclusion to the season and look ahead to the upcoming 2026 campaign.

Formula 1 enthusiasts can catch all the live action with Sky’s new Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle, offering access to every practice, qualifying session, and race. The package includes various TV channels along with complimentary subscriptions to Netflix and Discovery+.

As Ferrari aims to end the season positively before shifting focus to 2026, the team remains determined to learn from past setbacks and improve their performance moving forward.
