“Air Arabia Launches Long-Haul Budget Flights to Sharjah”

Budget airline flights are often seen as a test of endurance due to their cramped conditions and limited services. However, for shorter flights, passengers are willing to forgo luxury for cost savings to enjoy their destination. Recently, budget airlines have started offering longer routes, with Air Arabia introducing a new seven-hour and 50-minute London Gatwick to Sharjah route in spring 2026, making it one of the longest budget airline flights globally.

Operating on single-aisle planes, these flights provide an affordable means to travel to the Middle East, with Sharjah Airport conveniently located just 30 minutes away from Dubai. Ticket prices from London to Sharjah start at £182, with the new route expected to offer even greater savings.

Air Arabia’s onboard experience is similar to other budget airlines, featuring cabins with a single aisle and three seats on each side. Passengers can opt for extra legroom and choose from Basic, Value, or Ultimate packages, which include amenities like checked baggage, meals, and beverages.

While there are no seatback TVs, passengers can use the SkyTime app to access entertainment on their personal devices. However, Air Arabia is a dry airline, serving only soft drinks onboard. Sharjah, being a dry emirate, also restricts the sale of alcohol in public establishments.

Upon arrival, travelers can explore Sharjah’s cultural attractions, such as the Islamic Civilization Museum and Al Majaz Waterfront with its scenic views. Families can enjoy attractions like the Sharjah Aquarium and Sharjah Classic Cars Museum, showcasing a range of vintage and modern vehicles.

Sharjah, known as the “Cultural Capital of the Arab World,” offers a unique blend of history, culture, and leisure activities for visitors to enjoy.
