London Bartender Matteo Leone Found Deceased in Apartment

A 31-year-old bartender known for his infectious smile was tragically discovered deceased in his London apartment, believed to have suffered a heart attack. Matteo Leone was found unconscious and unresponsive by his flatmates during the early hours of Sunday, January 4.

Emergency services were promptly contacted, but unfortunately, Matteo could not be revived, with indications suggesting he passed away in his sleep. While awaiting the results of the post-mortem examination, initial assessments point towards a potential heart attack as the likely cause of death.

Matteo was known to be very content with his bartending job in London, as depicted in a photograph capturing him joyfully mixing drinks at the Looking Glass Cocktail Club in Shoreditch.

Originally from Canosa di Puglia, Matteo relocated to London post his studies to immerse himself in city life and enhance his English skills. His hometown roots were in Castiglione Messer Raimondo, near Pescara.

His grieving father Graziano Leone, a police station commander in Pescara, rushed to London upon hearing the news. Matteo is survived by his mother and three siblings, with a heartfelt vigil held in his honor at Shoreditch Park.

Preparations are underway to repatriate Matteo’s body to Italy, where his friend Mirko expressed deep sorrow, reminiscing about Matteo’s ever-present smile and lively persona that will forever be cherished.

“Safe travels, Matté.”
