Lando Norris was quick to find his stylish girlfriend Margarida Corceiro after securing his position as Formula 1 champion. The British driver was seen embracing and kissing the Portuguese model in the midst of the crowd before heading to the podium to celebrate his victory over Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Norris only needed to secure a third-place finish at the Yas Marina Circuit to clinch the title, given his 12-point lead over Verstappen before the race. Despite briefly losing second place to his teammate and competitor Piastri early on, Norris maintained his position.
Charles Leclerc put pressure on Norris towards the end of the race, but his Ferrari’s pace dwindled, allowing Norris a clear path to victory. Overjoyed, Norris shed tears as he expressed gratitude to his team over the radio, thanking them for making his dreams a reality.
Upon exiting his car, Norris embraced his parents and shared an emotional moment with Corceiro, his girlfriend. The couple publicly confirmed their rekindled relationship earlier in the season, attracting attention due to Corceiro’s long-standing presence in the public eye.
Following the Singapore Grand Prix, where partners of drivers received significant screen time during the live broadcast, Norris’ ex-teammate Carlos Sainz criticized the focus on WAGs, suggesting the coverage should prioritize the race’s competitive aspects.
In response to the attention, Corceiro remarked to Portuguese media that she does not actively seek camera attention and is often unaware of being filmed.
Reflecting on his achievement, Norris expressed his emotions, acknowledging the challenging journey and thanking his McLaren team, family, and competitors Verstappen and Piastri. He highlighted his pride in the team’s collective effort and his nine-year association with McLaren, emphasizing the significance of bringing success to the team.
