A tragic incident unfolded as a newly married woman, Samara Prado Martins, survived a car crash on a motorway only to meet a fatal end when a lorry collided with her as she exited the overturned vehicle with her husband, Thiago Oliveira Martins. The couple, who had tied the knot just a month prior, were traveling in Ponta Grossa, Brazil, on December 29 when the accident occurred.
According to authorities, their car rolled over on the BR-376 motorway’s hard shoulder, leading the couple to escape the vehicle. Unfortunately, they were struck by a large truck that failed to stop in time. Samara lost her life at the crash site, while her husband was rescued and airlifted in critical condition to a hospital in Ponta Grossa for urgent medical attention.
The couple was returning from the beach alone in their car when the tragedy struck. Samara’s parents, brother, and sister-in-law, who were traveling in a separate vehicle, turned back upon learning of the accident. The lorry driver, who emerged unharmed as the truck ended up in a field, is not facing any injuries. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the initial crash.
Samara’s body is being transported to Dourados, Mato Grosso do Sul, for her final rites. Friends of the victim, hailing from Dourados, have expressed their condolences on social media and extended support to her grieving family post the devastating incident.
