Conor Benn Calls Out Chris Eubank Jr’s ‘Victim Mentality’

Conor Benn has criticized his rival Chris Eubank Jr for displaying a ‘victim mentality’ following the release of a video showing Eubank Jr being treated in a hospital setting. The footage depicted Eubank Jr, aged 36, lying still on a bed connected to medical equipment amidst a group of healthcare professionals.

The video elicited sympathy from many fans, with some suggesting that Eubank Jr should consider retirement, especially after his defeat to Benn by unanimous decision in their recent rematch at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. In response, Benn questioned the motive behind Eubank Jr sharing the video, insinuating that it was a ploy to garner sympathy.

During an interview with The Mail, Benn mentioned hearing about Eubank Jr’s health issues during his training camp and post-fight, but expressed minimal concern as he believed the conditions were not severe. He emphasized the importance of delving into the reasons behind Eubank Jr’s actions, pointing out a perceived pattern of seeking sympathy and adopting a victim mentality.

Benn highlighted his own undisclosed struggles, citing an instance where he faced challenges such as tearing a tendon during training for a crucial fight. Despite these adversities, Benn emphasized the resilience required in their sport, labeling boxers as modern-day gladiators and stressing the lack of room for seeking public sympathy.

In contrast, Eubank Jr, in his social media post, confirmed his intention to continue boxing after dealing with health issues over the past year. He expressed a commitment to returning to full health before stepping back into the ring, affirming his dedication to making a successful comeback for his loyal supporters.
