“Costa Blanca: Top Affordable Summer Destination 2026”

A sought-after vacation spot in Spain known for its sandy beaches and clear blue waters has been identified as the most economical summer holiday destination for 2026.

In preparation for next year’s summer getaways, Which? conducted a comparison of 5,393 vacation packages from Jet2holidays and easyJet Holidays to determine the most cost-effective options. The analysis focused on a seven-night trip, inclusive of flights, departing around August 2, with two individuals sharing a room on various board types.

After thorough research, Costa Blanca, situated along Spain’s Mediterranean coast, emerged as the most affordable choice for holiday deals in the upcoming year. Which? found that the average cost per person for a seven-night package in Costa Blanca during the peak summer season would be £864.

The attractiveness of Costa Blanca’s affordability is partly attributed to the well-liked and reasonably priced coastal resort of Benidorm, often likened to the ‘New York of the Mediterranean’ or the ‘Spanish Las Vegas’. Benidorm boasts expansive golden beaches, azure waters, budget-friendly drinks, vibrant nightlife, family-friendly entertainment, and towering structures, all contributing to its distinct appeal.

In their investigation, Which? discovered that Benidorm offered some of the most inexpensive holidays starting from £535 per person for a week of self-catering at the two-star Playamar apartments. Alternatively, opting for an all-inclusive stay at the four-star Flamingo Beach Resort, featuring three outdoor pools, would cost £886 per person through EasyJet Holidays.

Costa Blanca goes beyond Benidorm, with tranquil Spanish locales away from the bustling tourist areas. One such option is the charming hilltop town of Altea, offering stunning Mediterranean views, with room-only accommodations available for £1,033 per person at the luxurious five-star SH Villa Gadea.

Costa Blanca stood out as the only destination where Which? found a week’s stay in August for less than £900. In other findings, the second most budget-friendly package holiday was identified as Tuscany, nestled in the heart of Italy.

Tuscany is renowned for its rolling hills, Renaissance artistry, and iconic cities like Florence, Siena, and Pisa. A week-long visit to this captivating Italian region would cost £929 per person, covering flights and lodging.

Ranked third among the affordable summer escapes is the stunning Agadir coast in Morocco, renowned for its vast sandy beaches and reputation as a premier resort destination. With numerous accommodation options along the coastline, centered around beach activities, a stay here would cost £946 per person.

According to Which?, six of the top ten most economical holiday destinations for 2026 are located in Spain, with Tenerife, Fuerteventura, and Gran Canaria making the list. Additionally, Zante in Greece, celebrated for its crystal-clear waters, lush scenery, and lively nightlife, also secured a spot in the top 10.

The following are the least expensive package holiday destinations for 2026, as outlined by Which?, showcasing the average price per person for a seven-night package stay.
