Farage Accuses Trump of Violating Law in Venezuela Strike

Nigel Farage has accused Donald Trump of violating international law with the recent strikes on Venezuela but suggested that it might have positive outcomes.

President Trump announced that the Venezuelan leader, Nicolas Maduro, and his wife were removed from the country after increasing pressure from the US. The capital, Caracas, experienced explosions and military presence, leading to chaos in the city.

Reform UK leader Farage, a self-proclaimed close associate of Trump, acknowledged the illegality of the strikes while arguing that they could serve as a deterrent to aggressive actions from Russia and China.

In a social media post, Farage expressed his views on the situation, stating that though the US actions were unconventional and against international norms, they might serve a beneficial purpose by influencing the behavior of China and Russia towards Venezuela.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer confirmed that the UK had no involvement in the US military operation in Venezuela. He expressed the intention to communicate with President Trump to understand the details of the incident that involved explosions and aircraft activity in Caracas.

Starmer emphasized the importance of gathering all the facts before taking further actions. He highlighted that the UK’s focus was on ensuring the safety of British citizens in Venezuela and coordinating closely with the British embassy for support.

Approximately 500 UK nationals are currently in Venezuela, and efforts are ongoing to ensure their safety. The Foreign Office has updated travel advice, recommending against all travel to the South American nation. British nationals in Venezuela are advised to stay informed, have contingency plans, and ensure their travel documents are up-to-date and easily accessible.
