Apple has introduced its newest lineup of iPhones. The company revealed the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone Air during its annual event at its California headquarters on September 9.
Pre-orders for the new models will start at 1pm on September 12, with availability beginning on September 19. Various retailers, including Sky Mobile, EE, Mobiles.co.uk, Vodafone, and Three, have confirmed that they will carry the devices, although prices are yet to be announced.
Customers can also opt to buy the phones directly from Apple and Amazon starting September 12. The standout addition to the iPhone series is the iPhone Air, touted as the thinnest iPhone ever. Interested buyers can find more information about the device in our initial review.
The iPhone Air is priced starting at £999 or £41.62 per month by Apple, with other retailers expected to reveal their pricing soon. Some retailers are encouraging potential buyers to register their interest ahead of the launch date. Mobiles.co.uk is offering a £20 Currys gift card for those who register and pre-order.
Weighing 165g and measuring only 5.1mm thick, the iPhone Air is the first smartphone in Apple’s ‘Air’ range, known for its slim and lightweight devices. Crafted with a Grade 5 titanium frame made from 80% recycled titanium, Apple claims the device is both durable and elegant.
Featuring a 6.5″ Super Retina XDR display protected by a robust Ceramic Shield, the iPhone Air is four times more crack-resistant and offers three times better scratch resistance than the previous iPhone model. Powered by the latest A19 Pro chip, Apple boasts it as the fastest processor in any smartphone.
Buyers of the iPhone Air can enjoy a free seven-day trial of Apple TV+ to stream popular shows like Severance, Ted Lasso, and Slow Horses. It is recommended to cancel before the trial ends to avoid subscription charges.
The iPhone Air boasts an improved battery life, capable of up to 27 hours of video playback on a single charge and quick charging to 50% in just 30 minutes. Equipped with a 48MP Fusion camera system and an 8MP Centre Stage front camera, photography enthusiasts will appreciate the advanced camera capabilities.
The device comes with iOS 26 out of the box, introducing features such as liquid glass and a new design that enhances the visual experience. Additional features include a dynamic lock screen, call hold assist, call screening, and AI functionalities like live translation and visual intelligence.
The iPhone Air is available in storage options of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, and comes in four stylish colors: Sky Blue, Cloud White, Light Gold, and Space Black.
