“Survivors Recount Harrowing Plane Emergency in B.C.”

Survivors of a harrowing plane emergency landing in Prince George, B.C., where one person lost their life and several others were injured, are recounting their experiences. Jaime Pawliuk described how he was on his way to work when he suddenly saw the plane approaching him. He recounted the moment when the aircraft came down on him, causing his vehicle’s top to be sheared off by the wing, showering him with glass. Despite sustaining superficial cuts on his hands and having glass in his hair, he managed to escape from the incident.

The incident involved a twin-engine Beech King Air 200 aircraft making an emergency landing on Foothills Boulevard, a major road connecting various residential areas in Prince George. Although police confirmed two vehicles were impacted, witnesses and photos indicate that more vehicles were affected, with Pawliuk estimating between three to five directly damaged. He mentioned that he and others had to abandon their vehicles at the site pending the ongoing investigation.

Video footage from inside the plane revealed that there were six passengers and two pilots on board. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among those inside the aircraft. However, authorities stated that ten individuals were evaluated for injuries, with two individuals being transported to the hospital in stable condition and one person, believed to be from one of the vehicles struck by the plane, tragically lost their life. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) confirmed that the Transportation Safety Board is spearheading the investigation.
