“Oil Spill on Hwy 401 Causes Major Delays”

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have issued a warning for drivers heading westbound on Highway 401 beyond Keele Street to anticipate significant delays caused by an oil spill. According to a statement by the OPP’s highway safety division, a spill of liquid asphalt oil from a commercial truck has resulted in serious traffic issues. As a result of the spill, all express to collector lanes in the vicinity have been shut down, with all collector lanes being diverted to express lanes. The police have not provided an estimated time for the lanes to reopen.
