The player who was targeted, identified as forward Dor Turgeman, hailing from Israel, was subject to insults during the match. A video of the game captured Turgeman scoring a goal, which led to confrontations between players and fans in the stands. Observers reported witnessing fans hurling insults and objects towards Turgeman.
CF Montreal clarified that the bans were a result of fans throwing objects onto the field and breaching the league’s fan code of conduct. The club also suspended privileges for the identified supporter section for an upcoming match and stated that further individuals involved in discriminatory behavior would face permanent bans from club events.
The team highlighted ongoing efforts to identify additional offenders and stressed a commitment to collaborating with local Jewish organizations to enhance anti-discrimination initiatives. CF Montreal emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards antisemitic chants or any discriminatory actions at its events.
