Conor McGregor Supports UFC’s White House Event

Conor McGregor has expressed approval for the UFC’s upcoming White House event, even though he is not part of the current lineup.

Initially expected to headline a fight on President Donald Trump’s front lawn against Michael Chandler on June 14, McGregor is now projected to compete the following month. UFC CEO Dana White unveiled the White House card on Saturday, featuring Ilia Topuria defending his lightweight title against Justin Gaethje in the main event.

In a surprising move, Alex Pereira will move up to the heavyweight division to face Ciryl Gane for the interim belt in the co-main event. McGregor shared his support for the event by posting a photo of the fight card on social media with the caption “love it,” despite not being listed on it. He later praised the card as “great.”

Earlier, the former two-weight world champion revealed his anticipation for a return to the cage but was unsure of the schedule. McGregor mentioned his interest in the initially proposed White House fight against Chandler, stating it would have been an exciting matchup. However, he acknowledged the possibility of being included in the International Fight Week event instead.

McGregor also disclosed his comeback plans at welterweight, emphasizing his eagerness to return to the octagon. He expressed readiness to accept any opponent offered but highlighted the need for a formal contract before finalizing his return.
