The latest rankings have unveiled the leading brands in the UK, with Marks and Spencer emerging as the top performer. According to the YouGov BrandIndex tool, M&S secured the top position as the strongest brand in the UK, considering factors like impression, quality, value, satisfaction, recommendation, and reputation over the past year.
Despite facing a cyber attack in 2025 that disrupted online shopping for months, Marks and Spencer clinched the top spot. Following closely in the top five are IKEA, Samsung, John Lewis, and Netflix.
In terms of improvement, the Post Office was recognized as the most improved brand due to increased satisfaction and enhanced public perception post the Horizon IT scandal. Royal Mail and Fujitsu secured the second and third spots for most improved brands.
On a global scale, WhatsApp led the best brand rankings, driven by its remarkable performance in markets like India and Indonesia. It was followed by Samsung, YouTube, and Google.
Commenting on the rankings, Stephan Shakespeare, CEO and Co-founder of YouGov, emphasized the importance of strong brands that establish lasting connections with consumers. The rankings are based on extensive consumer interviews across 28 markets, showcasing brands with enduring appeal.
Expressing gratitude for the recognition, M&S CEO Stuart Machin highlighted the significance of customer feedback in shaping the brand’s reputation. He commended the team’s efforts and emphasized the continuous drive for improvement.
