Sam Thompson to Undergo Vocal Surgery, Temporarily Losing Speech

Sam Thompson has shared that he will undergo a surgery that will temporarily affect his ability to speak. The TV personality confirmed the need for the operation during a conversation with his close friend Pete Wicks on their podcast, Staying Relevant. This revelation coincided with Pete also discussing his own health issues.

The 37-year-old former TOWIE star revealed that he suffered a fall at home over the holiday season and is seeking guidance on the matter. Mentioning a missed appointment for the issue from the previous month, Sam remarked, “That’s two men who are going for surgery this year.” Pete then hinted at Sam’s upcoming venture into music, which necessitates the surgery on his vocal cords.

Clarifying the situation further, Sam explained to Pete that he has a cyst on his vocal cords, which requires removal and will result in three days of vocal rest. According to NHS, these non-cancerous nodules develop on the edges of the vocal cords due to prolonged and forceful vocal cord contact.

As Sam prepares for the surgery, the public is eager to know if his new girlfriend, Talitha Balinska, will support him through the procedure. The couple made their relationship public last month, spending the Christmas holidays together and sharing affectionate moments on social media, dispelling any rumors about their relationship status.

In a recent Instagram post, Sam posted a cozy selfie with Talitha, showcasing their happiness together with a red heart emoji. This update on Sam’s personal life comes alongside his forthcoming medical treatment, emphasizing the support and positivity surrounding him during this time.
