Rachel Reeves has pledged to put an end to the longstanding rail issues in the North of England by injecting £45 billion into a transformation initiative.
Northern Powerhouse Rail, which has faced multiple delays under the previous government, will incorporate new rail lines connecting Manchester and receive substantial upgrades to infrastructure in West Yorkshire.
During a significant press briefing in Leeds, the Chancellor articulated how this initiative could revolutionize northern cities, generate employment opportunities, and contribute a £40 billion annual boost to the UK economy.
